67 Ramp Rat...

It was 65* here today in SC so I worked on the ramp. Got the heater boxes all cleaned out and got the fan working. Took the switch all a part cleaned the contacts with a wire brush and put some electric grease in it put it back together and walla it works even on high. I have heat and deforst now. Got the ash tray out and cleaned the ball bearings up and lubed it it slides in and out nicely now.
A month ago I put the new aluminium radiator in it so I did the over flow tank today. No more leaks are puking on the ground. I got a factory shroud coming to for $20.00
Next is brakes.
Went and picked up a Booster and master cylinder late this afternoon for it. Going to get it stopping just fine now I hope. I need to get a E brake setup for it. It's impossible to load a vehicle without a e brake. Got to buy tires some time also. Got to get the seat recovered also.
My buddy has a factory tilt wheel for it also and I have the old corvette steering wheel for it. $75.00 for the tilt ant bad at all + dash pad also.

This is going to be a cheap build well up til I do the LS motor swap!

More to come!

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

One day at a time are in today's case 2hrs @ a time. It's all I had.
Also got the master cylinder took a part and the rod out. Going to have to order a new rod for it I guess to swap it over to booster.

Got the steering wheel swapped out and the horn works now. There was so much grease and dirt on the contact it wouldn't work. Cleaned it up good and have horn working. In the taking it a part though I broke one of the tabs so it's in the shop letting the glue dry hopefully it will hold up. I'll install it tomorrow and see how it does.
I did end up with a nice 67 horn cap though off the old wheel.

Yes they are. Is that yours in the avatar? Cool ramp. I really love the ramp. I just hope I can get it to a point to use it. Do you have any good web sites for tie downs to buy.

Thanks again for the picture. I've got some LED lights I need to do something with so after the holidays I will mount them on the rear bar over the cab to help with loading in the dark. At some point I want to find a cheap yellow light to reinstall on it also. The one in the picture quit working. The gear has stripped out completely!

Well it wasn't 65* yesterday and today but I manged to get the brake booster installed with new push rod and to day I took the dash out and cleaned it up and swapped out the oil gauge. I also took the speedo cable out and relubed it hope it works when I get back in tomorrow if not I'll go get a new cable.

Didn't spend a lot of time on it because later I think I'll go with a digital dash.
It does look a lot better though. I took the E brake handle off to while under the dash. I have to figure out how to get the darn things all hooked back up though. For now though no e brake.

Mid January and it's 70* out side! I worked on the Ramp Rat some, got the dual exshaust done + got all the cab marker lights working!
Put the heater core back in the box and sealed it up good. Just waiting on the gasket kit to reinstall it in the truck.
The truck sounds a lot better with the same 2 exhaust on it.
The exhaust came off the 64 Impala SS when I had it all redone.

The dash hasn't been bought just a thinking process. I would love to find a stock dash with tach and speed warning. I sold mine several years ago for $650.00 and everything worked on it.

I held on to it for 3-4 years thinking I may need it but never did. If I could find one cheap enough I'd just use it instead. I'm not holding my breathe though.

Took the old seat out and replaced with a 90 model seat. Put the drivers side harness in have to make a LQ yard run to pick up some more belts. Installed the new strob light also.

Took the hump out and sealed it up good and put more screws in it.
Got to get a rubber mat for it and the inside should be done.

That's right! My goal is a LS motor at a later date. I want to find a nice size tank to go under it also. Maybe like a motor home tank.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
