Resto almost complete!

So today I started the truck for the first time in 20 years. The truck sat until December 2019 when I decided to do a resto. I'll keep this short and sweet since others have probably already seen my other threads. Engine was rebuilt and she fired up and with minor adjustments was able to compete my cam break in procedure then get the timing set. I actually drove it out of the shop for some pictures and the backed it back in. It feels amazing to have made it this far and dad is proud and can enjoy it with me. This was his truck before giving it to me in December 2019. He daily drove it for 30 years.

Yes sir! Thank you! This is the very first vehicle I ever drove and where I learned to drive a standard. I want him to continue to enjoy it also.

My front is a 2.5 inch drop spindle from the CPP disc brake conversion kit and the rear is a 4 inch drop spring from McGaughys. My truck is a coil spring trailing arm truck.

Re: Resto almost complete!

Here are some new pics. I took the truck and got inspection, alignment and registration today. Next Tuesday the bed is going to get spray in liner the the tailgate will go on. I'm on the home stretch now baby! I have about 20 miles on the truck now and it's awesome!

Re: Resto almost complete!

I'm also doing blue bowties on the center caps to match the hood bowtie instead of the gold.

When you and I were talking (PMing) about your brakes, I didn't realize you were that close to completion.. No wonder you sounded so flustered... Good job man.. Truck looks great..
