Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?

Get short glasspacks, louder than any muffler on the market when done right IMO. I have 18" glasspacks(12" chamber) on my truck with 2 1/4" pipe and it will rattle windows and set of car alarms, guaranteed. The mufflers(or lack of them?) are right under the back of the cab, and the pipe exits under the rear bedsides between the tire and bumper. The 350 is stock so it doesn't lope that much when idling but once I get that new cam with solid lifters in there...............

I like the TO4E 50 trims with a P turbine wheel from Exile Turbo. Not as good sounding as the Flowmaster, but makes ALOt more power on the big end!

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?

I just have some cheap turbo mufflers right now with 2 1/4 pipes in and out. I had a low budget at the time I had it done but they sound pretty good for the price. Eventually I would like to switch over to flowmaster or magnaflow.

I run Thrush Turbos behind Hedman hedders. You can hear them at 1/2-full throttle, but they are very quiet compared to most mufflers. Never cared much for Flowmasters or any other like sounding mufflers. Seems everyone and their dog's got 'em.

Weld up a pair of 5" fart can tips (like the Honda guys use), that would be funny. Talk about loud!

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I still don't really know what I want for a muffler. I'd like to have a nice tone idling and cruising, but a good sounding loud noise when you punch it. Having it quiet in the cab would be a plus, too. But I don't know what kind of muffler would act like that, it would be almost like a dream muffler. Thanks for the replies.

Did you get your Magnaflows in Saskatoon, and if yes where cause I'm gonna need mufflers in the next year or two.

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?

The 70 has Flowmaster 40s behind whatever headers is on it. With the old 305 and full tail pipes they were nice, but LOUD. My 96 GMC had Flowmaster 50s and my 03 Dodge has Magnaflows. Of the 3 I like the Flowmaster 50's the best good sound, but didn't drive you crazy in normal cruising with too much noise. I like the sound of the Flowmaster bit more than the Magnaflows, but both are good.

Re: What mufflers are you running on your truck?

Hmmmm, maybe I shoud consider a pair of Flowmaster Super 40 Series Delta Flow. Less interior noise and a deeper sound. Someday. Thanks for all the replies guys, have a Merry Christmas.
