67-72 Tailgate font

I am looking to do some custom touches on the bed wood and I am curious:

What font is used on the 67-72 tailgate?

Anyone know or have an alternative that is super close?

Thanks all!

Re: 67-72 Tailgate fknt

One can purchase the white or black stick on letters for the tailgate.
Possibly you could use them for a pattern?

Take a photo of it and put it on a projector to the scale you need?

I have looked for the original font through tons of different methods. I couldn't come up with anything that wouldn't need to be modified. Had messed around with that stuff in high school but haven't created my own fonts since then. There are some that could be modified depending on your needs, but nothing spot on.

Re: 67-72 Tailgate font

Do you just want to spell out C-H-E-V-R-O-L-E-T or did you want other letters in that font to spell out another phrase or word?

Re: 67-72 Tailgate font

Hmm I could probably make them up in CAD and save as jpg outline images that print to scale.

Re: 67-72 Tailgate font

It’s a really good question. There about a million fonts out there in various databases, must be somewhere.

Re: 67-72 Tailgate font

I'm not sure these would be an exact enough match for printing tailgate letter stickers, but they are accurate/consistent enough to use for other areas like your bed wood.

Re: 67-72 Tailgate font

This is line work in a CAD file at the moment. I am going to make PDF prints to scale.

Re: 67-72 Tailgate font

Keep in mind, the stepside font is different, are we talking fleetside or stepside?

We have a vinyl plotter at my work and the person that runs it made exact matched lettering on Oracle 615 vinyl. I can try to get the file.
