Ordered new headers today. Ordered the mid length Hemans. Just like my long tubes but in the mid length special for lowered C10.

The ones I ordered are 69026 1 3/4 HTC Coated. What I ordered.

The ones you posted about the 69010 are 1 5/8 uncoated aka painted.

The minimum primary I can run on my AFR heads is a 1 3/4. Plus black paint won't match my setup and will burn off.

Tha Chronic

So I have been thinking. That can be dangerous haha. Well Robert the guy I bought the truck from called the truck "simple green" but the truck now has nothing simple about it. And yes I know simple green is a play on the color. But for some reason that does not sit well with me. So I am changing the name. The new name from here on out is "Tha Chronic"! So from here on out you will see more changes coming for "Tha Chronic"

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

New Hedman Mid Length C10 Headers showed up today. I can tell they actually put sometime into making these specific for lowered C10. The long tubes I had was made for our truck but the passenger side header looked identical to drives which made it not fit so good. But as you can see in the pic below they are different. Should fit better.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Got headers in yesterday. Look bad ass!! Had to pull the starter out and reclock it. I have s mini high torque starter sylonoid was hitting header. Also had to remove my tall oil filter to get the drives side in. But it was worth it. Turned out nice. I have all the ground clearance I need now. Took it by the muffler shop and had it all connected up.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Also on drivers side I had to pull the 3 back plugs so the header would slide in. Also make sure after you get header up in place put plugs back in and torque them before you bolt header up. If not you won't be able to get to the plugs. I have angled plugs and still couldn't get a torque wrench on them or plug socket. Just a heads up if someone else gets these.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Also stepping up my game. Ordered this last week from Pro System 4140 carb with Venom II metering blocks. A custom made/tuned carb specific to my motor specs. My wife isn't real happy cause now I will have a 6 month old around 1500 miles Quick Fuel SS750 carb sitting on my tool box collecting dust. Lol.

Headers fit really well and look good. Have you considered fuel injection like Ezefi from FAST or the Holley / MSD systems?

Thanks. Yes I have looked into it. I like the Holley system. I like it better than the EZ they are the only 2 capable of feeding the amount of power I have. But if I do that then I will have to upgrade the fuel system and I would want the aeromotive phantom 340 in tank setup. That will be down the road if I go that route. But to be honest efi to me is more for fuel milage I don't really care about fuel milage with this setup. It a hot rod imo. Plus sometimes simple is better. Plus i am wanting to put a centrifical supercharger on it with a blow through carb. Hahaha. That's way down the road. If you want to make big power carb is the way to go.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Well change of plans. After reading talking figuring I went with another company. Went with BLP for my carb. Yes it cost more money but what you get is worth the cost difference. Here is what I am getting. Flows 930 cfm.

Re: 1976 Square "Simple Green"

Truck sounds meaner now lol! New headers and a big boy carb truck runs like a scalded dawg. Don't get me wrong it ran like it before but it is a different animal now. You can hear and feel the difference. Need to do some fine tuning on it. But out of the box man o man damn great!! Only thing I had to do was idle it up some. Bolt it on adjust idle and went out and hammered on it. Sounds like it is sucking my hood in lol. Worth every penny. Looks bad ass and more kick in the pants! I am very happy with it.
