Helper air bags

I have a 2018 Silverado CC with the V6, and 5.5 bed. Since I have purchased it I removed the rear block, added longer shackles to level it. This was perfect till I added the tool box, and tow hitch. Then the rear sagged another inch. So this weekend I added drop spindles, and it is perfect height for me to work out of.q

So now I want helper air bags, and since it is lowered I will have to build my own kit. Since none I have found accommodate a lowered truck

Every kit I have seen online bolts the bag to frame as well as the axle. I was planning on my version using tabs to slide over the axle perch, and locking in that way. Thus if I ever jack the truck up by the frame I do not stretch or rip the bag.

Is there a reason for the bolting the bag at both ends I am not aware of?

Re: Helper air bags

Bag stability I would think...if one end floats there would be a possibility it could squirt out on you...
Mines not lowered in the rear...i added a leveling kit to the front and i added bags in the back because even a 4-500lb load will make these new trucks squat....

Re: Helper air bags

As Mongocanfly stated, attaching both ends ends keeps things in place & stable. The set-up can 'float' if there is something that positively locates the floating end when the bag is actually helping compensate for a load.

I don't see why something like this wouldn't work from Ridetech:
https://www.ridetech.com/products/towing/air-over-leaf/

The kits come w/different rated air-springs per the capacity needs as well as side-of-frame/under frame mounting positions.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
