Cool Tubular control arms

Just curious what are the benefits of tubular control arms? Does the truck have to be lowered, and will the 67-72 tubular arms work on 73-87 because for some reason they are much cheaper. As always thanks in advance.

Re: Tubular control arms

Better camber for autocross or bling factor.

67-72 arms use different ball joints.

Only slightly better camber, can be longer for better stance, and they typically are stronger too. Down sides is they can be quite heavy for cheap ones. I would avoid drop arms as they can hit the ground or speed bumps way to easily.

The reason I say they only offer slightly better camber gain is that most are just copies of factory arms. If they locate the upper arm 1" forward for the most ideal then they are really good. Or decent if they get close to 5/8's of a inch. So it is a crap shoot as they dont say what they did to achieve it. Or no one as of my last attempt posted differences.

They make coil over or bag mounting a breeze comparatively.

If you want better handling the only way to truly achieve it is to move the pick up points of the arms. I have done this to a couple of C20's, and 1 C10. Then with longer leaf springs in back, flipped shackle, and flipped axle. They can really hustle on the street or bombing dirt roads. Or go for your favorite link suspension that fits your desires best.I did this after riding in a brand F raptor, and wanted to get as close as I could with what i could afford.
