Wow- that is alot of work! I looked pretty hot tho' with the dirt and dust on my face! Hubby was impressed that I got the angle grinder out and got this far! After we get it all sanded I am hoping to apply POR-15 and on the new floorboards we may just use rustoleum spray paint. The floorboards are pretty much brand new primered metal so it should last.

One of the few things on my to do list is a spray on bed liner. Those are sweet and it will help cut down on the tin can sound of the inside of a blazer.

Aren't you all impressed that a girl can get down and dirty with an angle grinder like you boys!!

I am really enjoying workin' on this blazer and I feel like when I am done I will be all that much more proud to drive it!

As far as the por-15 goes, it has to go onto unpainted rusty or sandblasted metal so that might not be an option. If you do end up putting it on one point in your favour is that I figure the cost of using POR is pretty much equal to the cost of spray bombs. Another alternative that I would consider if you are painting it the way it looks right now is to use rustoleum brushed or rolled on. It would probably be more durable that spray paint.

So I need to grind off ALL the paint in order to POR-15 it? Whew! That sucks! I guess back to the grinding. Is an angle grinder the best way to go down to bare metal in the bed here, or is there a "better" way??

POR-15 needs a rough surface to aid in its adhesion.

It is more of a rust converter than anything else.

The best solution to this would be since the bed area isn't rusty is to strip off all the paint you can and then prime with epoxy primer and then paint it with the same paint as the rest of the truck.

Por wont stick to a shiny surface either. Por makes a product called metal prep. I am not sure if using this on ground down steel will work. Another option is to wet down the metal and let it rust for a couple weeks.

ive got 2 words [rhino-linings]got a friend that has a big mercedes off road thing.and they rhino"d the whole interior because they go through deep water that run s on to floorboard.and they drilled relief holes.i was amazed how much qiuter it was in the cab,and durable,they just hose the floor off.im rhino ing my floor in about 2 weeks,and plan on just putting my carpet on top of it.my last one ,i dyno matted the hole thing,it was expensive and was not waterproof
