K30 brake valve? What is this?

Looking at a 84 k30 for parts... has this hooked up inline with rear brakes.... never seen anything like it before? Any clues?

Seeing this makes me very happy to live in AZ. My frame is still all black.

Re: K30 brake valve? What is this?

I bought my k30 from down south with noaxles and bought a old plow truck to swipe the axles from. It was pretty strange seeing a rust free truck with paint still on the frame with rotted old axles. I was too lazy to clean them up cause i planned on off-roading it and changed my mind once it was built.

Living in the salt belt is just normal i guess. Kinda like the people who live in the ghetto where people get shot all the timeand don’t move its just part of life. Last truck i bought came from Mississippi, and the wife just bought a Jeep from Colorado. Everything up here is just a mess and over priced. It’s cheaper just to have rust free trucks shipped

But back on topic, ive always just removed that thing. I thought its only really relevant if your hauling a bunch of weight

Yes just remove it.

However this is the norm for salt regions. It actually looks pretty good to me. Seen far worse on 7 year old trucks. You guys down south/west don't know the struggle!! LOL.
