I will mail the one I have out in the morning. You should have it in a day or two. If you get more than one just pass it on...

Re: Am I SOL? Where to buy one of these?

I finally got the Anchor Pin broke loose. What a chore, I had to snap off the wheel cylinder and cut the bracket on top to get the penetrating oil into the anchor pin threads. It took a lot of heat 10 hours of oil soaking + 1 1/8 wrench + one BFH + dremel tool + chisel and about 10 hours of bad language but I did it.

As you can see from the picture the pin was destroyed in the process. The next time someone says "this 42 year old vehicle has 91,000 original miles" I'll have a different perspective on what that means!

Just think I potentially have three more to do ... are hobbies suppost to be fun?

Looks like 3841719 or 3840699 are the part numbers depending on HD brakes or not. The applications might help someone shake a used one loose. One number runs from 60-72 for the HD and the other 64-71.
Thanks for the info! Edwards CA, I miss the Desert! From 13 until I joined the service I lived in Hesperia/Victorville area. I tried searching the net with the name supplied on your document. Still no luck, good thing you all helped me out! At least I know what it is called now.

Any progress? Driving yet? If you still don't have the correct pin, go through the applications and make a list for possible source vehicles at the local pick and pull.

Re: Am I SOL? Where to buy one of these?

Just got it back together a few minutes ago, LocDoc saved the day.

I looked at all the junkyards around here with no luck.

Thank you all for the help, I would have been SOL without your generosity.

Year and type of truck, and rear axle type will be helpful to get you the correct part.

My bad. Google pointed me to 67-72 board and I previously posted on the 47-59 board with no results. My bad for not looking!

It's a 59 3200 half ton, with the original H033 axle. I believe the axle was used from 55-62 in all half ton trucks. I'm just having a hell of a time finding the part. Thanks in advance!

Must be one hell of a drive from New Mexico to Indiana and back down to Louisiana. Lol. I think you might have seen gotten my location mixed up with Lafayette, la. You'd be surprised how often that happens at my restaurant. People from Louisiana call for delivery and don't even realize the area code is different.

Anyways, I'd be more than happy to PayPal ya for shipping/the part if it is the right one?

Re: Am I SOL? Where to buy one of these?

Hello Men. I made a similar mistake - my backing plates ended up in my scrap pile... I found some replacement plates, but I too need two Rear Drum Anchor Bolts. If any of you know where I can buy a couple I would greatly appreciate any leads. I'm located near Seattle. This is my first post of many to come! I recently got my frame back from powder coating. She's been in the family since '78, and was my high school truck. Everything has been going smoothly until I trashed the backing plates. I owe a lot to this forum and hope to contribute more than take someday.

Re: Am I SOL? Where to buy one of these?

I see this thread started in 2012, and now in 2016 this is probably even more unlikely to receive a positive outcome. However, I am trying to find a brake spring anchor pin for a 1966 Chevy C10 with a 5.3L engine. The picture LockDoc posted (I have reposted below) shows exactly what I need to get this truck back on the road. Does anybody have one or know where I could find one? They appear to be as rare as hen's teeth and a couple of hours of scouring the internet has given me this forum as the most likely place to hope for a positive answer. I've already spent weeks working with my favorite local parts store, other local parts stores, and various specialty junkyards to no avail. Hoping you folks might have the answer I'm looking for. Thanks!

I don't have any more of them. The salvage yard that was close to me closed last spring so I'm pretty much out of luck for extra parts.....

Re: Am I SOL? Where to buy one of these?

Hello Secret Squirrel and LockDoc,

I might, may, perhaps, possibly have a lead on an anchor pin. Thanks to LockDoc for the photo. I sent it to the source to verify sizing and it looks like it may be the one. We should be getting it to know for sure Monday. If it doesn't pan out, I would still like to avail myself of your assistance. If it works, though, I thank you for your willingness to help.

Re: Am I SOL? Where to buy one of these?

ABCNiceville - My post was from 2014. I ended up using the pin from my front drums. I converted the front to disc, and luckily I didn't throw out the parts. Do you still need one? I can check my scrap pile...

Hello Secret Squirrel and Jeff_Fall_City!

I appreciate your replies to my inquiry. Ultimately, our customer ended up doing a disc brake conversion. I do thank you for trying to help.

Re: Am I SOL? Where to buy one of these?

I have the problem I was able to get the old anchor bolt out but the threads are now shot, I cannot find one at any junkyard around me. If anyone has one for the front drum brakes I would really appreciate it I have had this truck sitting for more than 8 months now and that's the last pice I need to rebuild the brakes to be able to move the truck.

Anyone know where to find the lock washers that go between the wheel cylinder and the anchor pin?

Re: Am I SOL? Where to buy one of these?

not sure if this is the right size, but it's a source (I think it's for cars, and it's a front, but it may be a common part with a 1/2 ton truck, who knows. Link includes measurements, so could at least compare it to a broken one if one needs it. I realize this post started 6 years ago, but folks keep coming back to it!

jcwren, sorry, no idea on the lock washer, I'd post a WTB ad on the parts board.

You can make one out of a piece of sheet metal. Drill or cut the hole in it first, before cutting the outside diameter. Make sure you have it clamped down good if you are going to try and drill it (clamp it onto a board of some kind for a backer). It doesn't have to be pretty, just functional....
