Re: Headers

Use rams horn factory manifold they flow just as good as any header up to 5,000 rpm and don't leak .

Re: Headers

I guess if he wanted to run manifolds he wouldn't be asking about headers. I'd like to see that chart that show headers make no improvement in flow. I never run my trucks over 5 grand

The 3/4 length headers are a sure bet and on a street truck I think the difference in performance will be negligible between 3/4 and full since the difference plays out in high RPMs. I never had any full-length headers that hung below the frame, but I haven't bought new headers for a 2wd in a long time. It seems many do now and I wonder if it isn't header makers shoving '73-ups onto us 67-72 guys. The 4wd headers ride high and tight. I have the 12 year old Headman Torque-steps off of my '72 right now and wish I had a 2wd to mock them up to. I think they would work, but would like to verify. They say the 4wd headers don't hang as low. The old Cyclones and Blackjacks never hung down

Re: Headers

I'm going to need exhaust for my 72 c10.....Has headers now and was thinking of getting re-pop rams horns....I'm going to be using the 2 1/2" drop spindles in the front so don't want any clearance issues. Are the Headers any good? will be far from a performance sbc..just a daily driver

Re: Headers

Hedman headers are some of the best you could get, my long tubes are ceramic, but like I said, I'll be going to mid length at some point and redoing the exhaust.

I ordered hedman pn#69176 coated mid length headers for my 71 2wd with a 402BB , the hedman help line gave me that number. I ordered them from summit because the could ship them the day I ordered them and Jegs ship date was 5/26. Both had them the same price. I needed them now cause my truck went to my motor guys shop Thursday to get a few more horses and he is going to put them on while he is doing the work. They will be delivered to him Tuesday. I will take some pics when I get it back after I get the muffler guy to pipe it up.
