Re: Meet Frankie...'72 C30 Camper

Well it's interesting for sure, but kind of a shame to see such a nice survivor so hacked up. I liked it better all original

I agree. Looks 1000x better now

If you are going to build a truck, start with a nice truck like this. Starting with a rusty pile of junk is a waste of time and money, which leads to frustration and the project never being finished.

Re: Meet Frankie...'72 C30 Camper

I really like what they did with it. Fast turn around too! I get it isn't everybody's style. But just think how easy the camper is to get in and out of now.

Re: Meet Frankie...'72 C30 Camper

A lot of work went into this... pretty cool new life for an old camper! Fun car show party camper tow rig (?) with an LS swap and some old 348/409 faux valve covers.

Here's a youtube link to the inside of this camper. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDWm99sXyaE

I don't ever see it going camping again , It's a shop built advertising display /party show truck and a lot of good work went into it with a huge open checkbook...

It's cool looking ...BUT...

I'm more impressed with the guy's who built their own trucks be it all original or custom while having a budget and family to care for while building it in their own garage.

Re: Meet Frankie...'72 C30 Camper

Whats interesting is to now imagine this custom unit 5-10 years down the road after its done the full show circuit and is no longer considered an attraction 'persay'.
The initial, original camper lasted 45 years intact and it still attracting attention and value....I'm not sure if the novelty customs will have 'the same legs' over time as the original equipment...especially something that has reduced practical functionality.
....hmmm?

All good

Re: Meet Frankie...'72 C30 Camper

I looked at it Friday at SEMA, it was quite impressive (even thought I think they ruined it ). I could see it bringing that kind of money.

Re: Meet Frankie...'72 C30 Camper

Not sure if it's just my bad connection, or what, but the pictures from SEMA weren't showing up. I'm posting a few more, just in case others are having the same problem.
