FIXRUPR 1987 R10 LQ4/4l80e

Hey guys, been a member here for a while but haven't posted much. Ive got an 87 r10 that I drive every day. Long story short I have never had a truck that I liked enough to spend enough money on to LS Swap until now. I love this truck more and more. It currently has a TBI 305 with 700r4 but it has got to go. So I recently picked up a 2005 LQ4 and 4l80e with under 70k miles. Plan to do cam and longtubes and drop it in.

Ive lowered my truck 4-4.5" in the front with 2" drop spindles and 1" drop coils with 3/4 of a coil cut to make it sit level, and a flip kit in the rear with no notch.

Running 20x8 and 20x10 American TTII.

I do everything with this truck and love it. From driving to work last week in the snow and ice, drove it 800 miles to Panama City for Cruising the Coast and pulling my 18' bass boat. Anyways sorry to bore you all, I will upload some pictures of my progress so far. Get ready for my 10k questions! Lol

If you love it now...wait till you put that LQ4 in it. I put one in my stepside about a year ago. I like driving it more then 2016 Silverado.

I have a similar drop as you..What is the backspace on those wheels and tire size?

Yeah man I'm real excited. My brother has a 65 with an ls2 and I love it. Not sure on the backspace but the tires are 255/40/20 fronts and 315/35/20 rears. Thank you.

I am making progress . No pictures to prove it but I have ordered some parts. Got me a new alternator, and ordered my harness from PSI today. Slowly but surely. Trying to have all of my parts together before i tear my truck apart.

Cleaned up on the engine a little yesterday and removed some unnecessary parts. Here is a before and after. I'm getting excited! Ready to get the ball rolling

Re: FIXRUPR 1987 R10 LQ4/4l80e

MY FREAKING LUCK! YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!!

Got home today expecting my harness that I ordered last week. Unfortunately for me, my 1 year old boxer puppy found the box before I got home and went ahead and opened it for me in the yard. And in the rain and mud.. and apparently the wires tried to attack her and she attacked back..

I have fumed long enough and now I guess I will accept the fact that I'll have to repair some wires on my harness before going forward.

Does anyone want a boxer ?

Argh....that is a bummer about the harness. Hopefully your pup didn't do to much damage and you can get it back to gether quickly.

Just got off the phone with PSI and they are going to repair my harness. So glad I went with them . I did so because I kept hearing how awesome their customer service was and I already see!
