Re: Monies gauge to aftermarket

What year is your truck? If it is ’91 then the DRAC is integral to the gauge pcb. You might need to get a DRAC from a later year.
What does your aftermarket speedo require? The Speed sensor in the transmission might be enough for that.
The reluctor ring creates 40 pulses per driveshaft revolution. The DRAC converts the 40 pulses to 128,000 pulses per mile for the RWAL Brakes, 4,000 pulses per mile for cruise control, and 2,000 pulses per mile for the ECM and speedometer.
If you eliminate the gauge pcb these features won’t work and the alternator won’t charge. This is for ’88 to ’92.
At a minimum you’ll need to add a resistor to the sense wire of the alternator.
