V8 Shroud on a L6?
Hi guys,
Another question for you. I have a 250 with the original radiator and finger guard shroud. My question is would a v8 Shroud bolt right up to the radiator? I am wanting to put an electric fan from this thread but wanted to have a shroud too. Also, would I be able to run the switch to kick on the fan and have it read the gauge? |

Since it's real hard to find a stock L6 radiator nowdays, a PO may have gotten a wider V8 radiator as a replacement. If the radiator mounting brackets on the passenger side are closer to the battery and there is one bolt hole inboard, the brackets may have been moved. Bolt hole outboard -- may have been modified. In any case driver side does not move. The bracket has 2 holes. There are 3 radiator bracket mounting nuts embedded in the passenger side radiator wall. With the wider radiator, you use the center and outboard one. With the stock L6 radiator you use the center and inboard one. For an electric fan set-up, a fiberglass fan shroud may work. I've always considered the L6s to be nearly air-cooled. I get by in Tucson with just a flexfan.
