Post drip rails

i have recently cut off my drip rails on my 67. to anyone that had done this mod, i was wondering how you went about building that edge back around the door. i mean when you have to grind on it its not going to be straight. i thought maybe if i use to much bondo it would crack. any input would help. thanks

Wink

I just finished this on my 68. After you weld, grind it down as close as possible, and then skim coat it with filler. You are right you dont want to over do it on filler or it will crack on you. I used a product called Metal to Metal. It works great. It is a filler that actually has metal shavings in it. Bonds well. sands awsome, and sets up hard as metal.

Here's some pics of mine. This is a first for me...also first time welding. Not much progress from what you see, but I may try that metal stuff too instead of bondo.
