View count on threads
How long has the counter for the views on each thread stopped counting? I noticed this the other day I was on a thread and saw that there were four guest and two members viewing. When I went back to the thread a different day the count was the same.

Re: View count on threads
I first noticed it being out of comission on the 1st. I discussed it with LockDoc. Folks in upper management are aware of it.

Re: View count on threads
There a few strange things going on lately. Like going from one page to another in a multi page thread I have to log in again for each page. Then there are all those wierd user names that appear I presume to be spammers. Owners and staff are busy taking care of such things.

Re: View count on threads
There’s the thread count, subscription notifications going to spam, and also older threads won’t reload in desktop view so I can’t view pictures easily. Not a major deal but kind of a nuisance.

Re: View count on threads
When you post wtb or fs threads its kind of frustrating not to see how many views you have. I am paying to have that service even it it's only 25 bucks.

Re: View count on threads
Usually this thread count bug starts after a new plugin is added to site or an old one goes bad with not keeping up with upgrade. Might have luck fixing if you try turning off one plugin at a time and see if counter starts again. Also some forum plugins have an area in the admin that does a thread recount rebuild from database.

Re: View count on threads
I have a game plan in place to fix the thread.counter. I will make the time to do it very soon, it's a long 12+ hour process in rebuilding tables due to a database crash. The forum has to be off most the time while.doing so.also. working on getting everything ready for a upgrade to vb4 to have a more robust and newer tech ology friendly setup also. Due to my job and being one of the senior techs at my.job time off is hard to come.by lately.
Thanks, Josh

Re: View count on threads
I guess if it's supposed to work it needs to be fixed. But I don't use it or miss it one bit. I never even considered using it to track views in a for sale thread. I check them regularly unless they get old. I only care about replies anyway. How many people look means nothing to me.
