My new 1950.

Picked her up last Wednesday. 1998 vortec 350 w 700r4, 88 s10 frame & suspension, camaro disk brakes, power steering, a/c, I've always loved these trucks and have finally been blessed.

Re: My new 1950.

She's low and is a fire hazard here in Texas with all the sparks we make. I was thinking of putting it on bags just so I can come up a bit while cruising. My favorite part of the truck is the 20" rim tucked under that rear fender.

Sweet! The Boss rims are sweet. I bought the same wheels for one of my Chargers.

Re: My new 1950.

RivRat, What is the height of the running boards to the ground. My panel is low, about 4-5 inches and wondered what your is. Mine is a static drop and I want to bag it sometime too. I just have to get it on the road first.

Re: My new 1950.

Is there a build thread somewhere, possibly another forum? I'm curious how the surface rust was done. I've heard you can just spray down bare metal with salt water.

Re: My new 1950.

Just let it sit in a field for 20 years to get the natural patina. I'm pretty shut I saw a thread or two on the H.A.M.B

Re: My new 1950.

Did you pick that up in Mustang, Oklahoma? I think the PO owns a muffler shop in Mustang, I've seen it out in front of his shop before. I've always loved that truck. Congrats!

Excellent, that truck NEEDS to be driven daily. Just so others have the joy of seeing it.

Re: My new 1950.

I can't tell you how many compliments I get everyday. People honking as I drive by or walking up when I pull into a parking lot. I just put some 1950 Texas truck tags on it today.
