68 anniversery C-10 pics

Hey fellow chevy owners! I have just towed my truck back from Kentucky and wanted to post some of my pictures of it. It only has 42,800 miles and from the pictures you can see that it is in immaculate condition. The only issues seem to be rust on the rockers and some rust on the RT front fender from the battery acid. I will post some more pictures here shortly of the seat, engine compartment, and outside. Enjoy!

P.S. Has anyone seen the GM logo on the dash like this? Look at 2nd picture, upper rt corner.

Welcome to the board from Kent, WA! WOW!!!!!! That is one great looking truck. I have a real affinity for those 50th Anniversary trucks. You've got a great ride there.

That GM is the choke delete plate...I have one in each of my trucks! They are sought after!

Re: 68 anniversery C-10 pics

Nice truck. Seats look like the truck is a Custon and not a CST as the 50th anniversary were either CST or Custom models. Nice score.
I saw the seat in the prior thread.

<<Seats look like the truck is a Custon and not a CST as the 50th anniversary were either CST or Custom models.>>

The Anniversary package included the CST badging but not the complete CST package. If you ordered the Custom Comfort and Appearance Option plus the Anniversary you got the CST badging, cloth seats and vinyl floor mats. If you ordered the Anniversary package and CST you got the vinyl seat and gold carpets. Interesting little differences in the two. I have one of each to verify this and the GM Restoration Manual other wise I would have figured it was just an assembly line screw-up...LOL!

Re: 68 anniversery C-10 pics

If only my old 50th looked that nice!!!!

Great find. Has your's got a powerglide or a turbo trans?

I believe that uncle is right about the choke delete. My truck had a 307 2bbl w/ a manual choke. The GM tag is where my cable control is.

My truck is a Custom. I don't have the origional seat cover.

I really like seeing trucks with this color scheme. Yours looks great, and all original too. I can't believe how clean your interior is. Great find!!

Yes, the GM on the console is known as a choke delete option, this is very desirable and hard to find from what I have been told, Super Nice score and welcome to the board

Hey 68speedalert! It has the turbo transmission! I know that another chevy owner (409biscanye) asked me to take a closer picture of the gold carpet! Sorry to say its a gold mat not carpet.

Actually, that's where the Wiper button usually is installed. That must be a rare one.

That's neat to see a real '68. My cab is a '69 on a '68 chassis. My cab looks nothing like what you have. I have a foot parking brake and no side vents just the one on the floor and the defrosters. I think I like yours better.

I'd like to find a builder 50th. I thought I'd bought one, gold, white on the top, but no white on the bottom or the white interior.

On a 67 or 68, the choke goes in the upper right, with an optional hand throttle directly below it. Upper left is headlamps, and directly below it is the wiper knob. That GM tag is a factory manual choke delete....came with the optional automatic choke.

Other than the knobs and the parking brake, your 69 cab is the same. The side vents and the one over the radio are A/C vents not included on a non A/C truck.

That has got to be one of the... if not THE, sharpest 50th I have ever seen.
