1969 C20 Lowering Questions

Just trying to figure out what to do with my 69 C20. I'm building more of a slammed ratted shop truck so I have no intentions of painting or anything. I am wanting to lower it as low as possible though. I found DJM has a -5/5+ kit for the C10 trucks that comes with new upper and lower A arms. Will these bolt onto my truck? I was told by DJM "They would probably work but I would most likely have to change out the ball joints" Only reason I'm looking at this is because its the only A arm kit that I've found that will give me a 5" drop and let me keep the drum brakes.

Any advise, info or suggestions would be appreciated.

thoughts of changing to 1/2 ton?

Swap everything out and you can make it easy. Drop spindles and bags, should get you there plus your driveability would improve imo.

Re: 1969 C20 Lowering Questions

I've considered swapping it to a half ton but that would still be the same question. Would the half ton A arms work on a 3/4 ton truck? If they would I would think that if I just put 3/4 ton ball joints in the A arms I would be at the same place for half the cost. I kinda like the thoughts of keeping it all 3/4 ton. All I'm planning to do for now is a coil spring drop. I just want to get it as low as possible and figured by changing out the A arms I could replace all of my bushings while I was in there.

Pretty sure the half ton and 3/4 uppers are the same I know the lowers are different they have bigger ball joints for 3/4. How are you lowering your front. I'm in the same boat as you I'm considering don't by an axel flip for 5 in of drop but don't know what to do about the front so I can keep my drum brakes. I can't afford to swap in discs and have to buy new wheels to fit over the calipers
