Older post I know but I have seen this combo. My old neighbor had one. 292 with the goofy 2 barrel carb, 4spd, 4x4. He bought it new so I know that it wasn't swapped.

292s in K-Series trucks required a special, 292-only diagonal cross-menber.
Mine's not for sale, but I could give the measurements, and someone could weld a facsimile. The diagonal runs from the drivers-side back, to passsenger side forward. Probably runs under the motor mounts. C-Series frames must be closer together near the front.

The 6.2/6.5 engines use a Big Block crossmember. Just a thought..
