Holly mechanical fuel pump

I installed a holly mechanical fuel pump around 15 years ago. I recently noticed that it seamed like it was slowly seeping gas from one of the gaskets. I just replaced it and it seems like it is leaking from the same place. It is the type that allows you to rotate it so that the inlet and outlet ports can be rotated. Has anyone had any experience with this type of pump? When I first installed it i wormed up the truck for a little while and it didn’t leek. But after driving it a couple of miles I noticed it was leaking. The only thing I can think of is that when it heated up the screws that hold it together loosened.

Photo of the old pump to give you an idea of what the pump looks like. The gasket it is leaking from is the one above the fittings in the photo

Summit has a list of a few with specs on them (pressure) https://www.summitracing.com/search/...cending&page=1
I "believe" this "type" with the gasket in the middle and screws around the circumference is repositionable. The stock looking units are not.

They sell new gaskets but you have to have the model number.

My quick online search says less then $10, and your back in buisness

Re: Holly mechanical fuel pump

It is a brand new pump so I don't think I need a new gasket and they only sell gaskets for certain pumps and mine is not one of them. I will have to crawl under it this weekend to see if the screws are loose or if the fittings are not all the way tightened.

Re: Holly mechanical fuel pump

So I think I figured out what went wrong. When I installed the pump I had the AN line that goes to the tank connected to the pump and when I installed it the fitting loosened slightly. This also could have happened when I tried to make the line go a different route. I unscrewed the line, tightened the fitting and Reroute and reconnected the line. I drove it for a few miles and I don’t see any leaks. Thanks you all for your help.
