Alt and steering pump location - 250 I6

I am planning a little for future power steering on my 250 I6 in my 59 GMC while it is easier with front end off. I cannot get used to the power steering pump being on top over the alternator. Just seems like there could be a chance of a leak on the alternator besides not looking right..

My plan is the alt on top and pump on bottom. I need to fit a belt today -- somewhere around 50 inches. I will not place the adjustment bracket until I get the belt fitted.
