Re: Calling All Steelies - Caps and Otherwise...

My first post on this forum. Here's mine.. not steel though, they're aluminum Coy C-33 smoothies. 18"x7" up front, 18"x9.5" in the rear. I added my own stripe to the lips.

Re: Calling All Steelies - Caps and Otherwise...

Here's mine. I just recently lost one of my original hub caps while driving on the highway. Never could find it, so I had to resort to an aftermarket cap. The aftermarket caps are pretty nice.

Are these the stock steel wheels? Running drum brakes still? Spacers?

Re: Calling All Steelies - Caps and Otherwise...

My old '66. Stocks up front, spaced out 1.5" to fill out the fenderwell and clear the calipers, and really hard to find vintage aftermarket chrome reverse 8" wheels with 3 nub/rectangle slot centers in the back. They're different from Blazer 8" wheels, the drop center of the rim starts a lot farther back so the lip looks deeper. 215/75 and 235/75 tires.

With caps.

Dad's old '66 on stockers.

The '65 I restored on stockers.

Re: Calling All Steelies - Caps and Otherwise...

22in transit rims custom widened to 10 in and the rear offset changed to 4.75in. 285/35/22 nitto 420s tires. powder coated in white with chrome powder coated lip and the tires ground smooth and 1/4 in red lines added.

next project lower for the correct stance

Did those Wheel Vintiques have the nubs for mounting the caps? If not how did you mount them?

I have some aftermarket steelies of unknown origin without nubs. Would love to mount some caps....
