1970 short bed

so... im new to the site and the forum maybe im posting to quick my names adam and its nice to meet all of you and i hope to gain great skills and ideas from all of you

this is my 1970 chevy shortbed i just brought it home yesterday 8/12/10 my plans are to bag it on 22's shave everything french in the antanne to where the fuel filler was once at relocate the filler to the stake hole in the bed caddy tail lights 4 wheel disc breaks and a/c power windows custom made 4 link and bag setup custom made center consol with a b&m floor shifter the truck came with a motor and tranny the motor is a fuel injected 5.7 from a 88 chevy and the tranny is the 4l80

now some things about the truck it's a 70 was made in fremont ca was a 6 cyl 4 speed still has the 4 speed in the truck "if anyones looking maybe we can work it out" truck came stock and still has the 12 bolt 4:11 posi rear end

i have lots of questions and ready for anwsers also for the truck motor and tranny as it sits i paid 200 bones for it

Welcome to the Club! Sounds like a nice start to a great project, $200 bucks is a deal! Are you planning on layin frame or just baggin it and c-notching? What's first on the menu? Rust delete?

thanks for the replys im gunna leave the truck rusty crusty for now my first step will be the frame beds coming off cabs also then start on cleaning the rust and down to bare metel i have a 10" monster notch on the way and i plan on laying frame gunna order the a-arms in the next week

hey everyone soory no new photos yet i will take them tomarrow and get the posted but i have made some progress i got the truck off the trailer lol the first step but other then that i also took a wire wheel to the rain channel and got it cleaned up and shot some primer in it to stop the rust also got the doors open they we rusted shut so i had to open the the redneck way lol i mounted the truck in the dukes of hazzard way kinda hard cause it sits like a 4 wheel drive and im 300 lbs so think about that ook you had your laugh now once i wiggled through the window i had to have my sister hold the button on the door handle and kick the s___ out of the doors only cause i have a new set on the way so that was done i took out the seat and pulled up the carpet gunna clean it all up shoot more primer and get it done also got the hood off and started the finders also got the cowl off i will post photos sometime in the morning as my cam is dead have a good night guys

i took the cowl off and the fenders found that the core support needs to be replaced cut out all the wiring pulled the blower motor hoses everything down and cleaned out the cowl of all the leafs and junk heres the photos sorry they come from my cell phone




































starting on the bed next more photos to come stay tuned

so i was sick for the last week haven't touched the truck but today i got back to it i tok out the busted window and found a nice surprise heres some photos see if you can find what it was i cleaned everything up and will prime it and take some photos here in a bit

ok everyone look what i got today i found some rust in my cab and not wanting to deal with it i got a new one but man did i score the cab is rust free the rockers are dent free the floor is rust free the drip rail is shaved and almost finished one piece windows are done has keyless entry installed gas hloe is shaved and the antanne has been frenched in to the body and the cab came with a clean title and pink in hand these are my cell photos but better ones to come on tuesday when i pick up the cab check out the photos and let me know what you think
