Just a rant

LMC has to have the rudest, most un-useful phone staff I have ever had to deal with.

Re: Just a rant

I can't fault them on that myself but their shipping charge policy is terrible. They still base it on the total cost and your "area" instead of actual cost. That sends me to shop the other sources first and use LMC as a last resort.

I did get my glass from them and even with shipping charges they beat the pants off any other supplier. It came well packaged.

Re: Just a rant

That's too bad. I have never called them up, but have ordered some parts from them w/ no problems to date. Bad customer service can put a big dent in a companies reputation. Write them a letter.

Re: Just a rant

I stopped using LMC a long time ago. I called one day to see if they had a certain part that wasn't in the catalog. The lady quickly said in a why are you bothering me voice; "If you dont see it in the catalog then we dont sell it." Thats fine, but then she immediately hung up on me before I had a chance to respond. So I sent a letter explaining what happened along with the page from my Chevy Duty catalog that says "If you dont see it in the catalog, call us we can find it for you." LMC is too expensive anyways, almost everyone is cheaper than them.

Re: Just a rant

Ill rant with ya.
Last year I bought 2 NEW tail lights.
And then sent them to me.
The sent me 2 different tail light by 2 different manufactures. You would think that the "employee" pulling the order would at least try to get 2 tail lights by the same manufacture??
And yes they do look a bit different,,

Re: Just a rant

Because they are not too bad if you are local and can pick it up yourself and see it before you buy it. I would rather buy from other sources but sometimes you need the stuff that day.

Re: Just a rant

I am glad to hear I am not the only one to be screwed by LMC. I always use classic parts, but they were out of stock on cab supports for my burb. So I called LMC and they had them, they also cost $35 more than the classic parts and the shipping was also double. About $62 total more than the same parts from classic parts and they fit like crap. I know thats the way repop parts are, but everything I have purchased from classic parts fit great and worked with the parts they mate to. then throw in the LMC cab supports that are not even close to fitting with out the hammer and body saw. Their customer service reps are among the rudest people I have ever had to order parts from. This woman treated my like I was stupid and deaf. I was so Fn pissed when I hung up I wanted to call back and cancel the order, but I needed the parts and no one else seemed to stock them. oh well, learn from life. It will be the last purchase I ever make from them. I really hope they read this thread and realize the people that keep them in business are going elsewhere to spend their money. I had better stop now , I getting pissed again thinking about it and I wanna call them and yell at someone.

Re: Just a rant

Three words.... Early Classic Enterprises. They might not have the best website or catalog, but if you call them, they will hook you up.

Re: Just a rant

LMC is terrible, If you are local you might try,
1. Classic Parts of America KC Mo (formerly Chevy Duty AND they support this site)
2. Manes Truck parts KC MO
3. Jim Carter Classic truck parts KC Mo
4. Bowtie bits Wichita KS

If you need to order, Wes at Classic Heatbeat, GMC Pauls, or Tim Christian are excellent people to deal with and they support this site.

Just my opinion.

Jeff

Re: Just a rant

I too have called them about a specific part and got the well is it in the catalog. I said well sort of, Thats why I am calling you. I want to make sure that what I am looking at is what I need. No help from LMC they said if I received it and it wasn't what I needed I could send it back at my expense. I ask myself wouldn't it be easier if you just told me if the part fits this or looks like this? I don't even remember what the part was now but I hung up and have never called or ordered from them.
