Rear Door Emblem

Trying to find the "chevrolet" emblem for the rear right barn door.
Driver quality is fine, just something that's complete/whole with the studs intact.

I think it is but again, not 100% positive. Anybody have any idea on how to straighten one?

I'm still recovering from the shock of seeing that "great white" . Can't call it Ochre Winfrey now, maybe Kirstie Alley or Delta Burke?

They are a tough find. Took me over a year to find one and its all pitted. I understand that they are the same as either pre 71 or 71 Chevrolet van and before for a couple of years. Then the emblem is the same on the vans for another couple of years after, except for the fact that there are only 3 mounting posts. Hope it helps. I still found them broken on everything that I found. If you find a second one in nice cond, keep me in mind.I'll probably end up painting mine black its so rough.good luck!

John

P.S. Still selling that rust free Blazer?

I think that pot metal needs to be heated to bend. Dont know how hot though. Dont melt it! I'm sure that there are people on the site that know.

Thanks. The emblem on my 72' Parts burb is pretty decent(not a lot of pits) but has a slight bend in it from the dent above it on the gate. I haven't touched it yet. I'm hoping to get it off in one piece, straighten it and have it and the ring around the lockbutton and the handle replated someday...

Have fun putting it on. I don't think I've ever dropped a 5/16 socket so many times as I did today putting my extra emblem on the new burb. What a PITA trying to get it out.

Smile

Believe it or not guys straighten diecast by hitting it. Some of the employees in my building worked on diecast parts for years and they straightened the parts by hitting them with a hammer and a piece of wood to keep from maring them.

I have tried it and it works but I must say it is scary.
