need part number , lamp sockets,90-91 gauge cluster.

In 1990 when GM went to the electronic speedo in the square bodies, they changed the lamp sockets that fit into the back of the gauge cluster housing. They became smaller(they don't look it, but they are). They may be the same as the GMT400 body, but I cannot verify that because I have no access to one of those dashes, and I am quarantined at home, so could someone please give me a part number that I can look up and order, the only numbers I see on the gray sockets are 67, PC 194 and in TINY letters the socket says REPLACE ENTIRE ASSM, even though they still use a 194 bulb. I need a half dozen or so sockets. Thank you- Crossy
UPDATE- it doesn't seem like the 194 bulbs come out of these sockets, hence the wording on it i guess.

I have extra sockets for the gauge cluster bulbs, and I believe I have 2 different sizes. Let me dig them out, and I’ll get pics for you.

Re: need part number , lamp sockets,90-91 gauge cluster.

I've had hundreds of these dashes apart, but it's been 10 years since I've tried to repair any, back then everyone wanted tach dashes only. NOW is different because people are trying to fix ANY square body. I've done clusters for up to 88 K5's and Burbs, and they all used the same sockets back to 73. This 90-91 dash is different. I only have this one 90-91 dash, and I think P/N 25087583 is what I need.? a guy on ebay wants $16 for SIX!

You can pull the bulbs out and replace with leds. They are difficult to get out. The leds work great and now I can see my gauges without any other modifications to the cluster.

I used Yorkim T10 led bulbs from Amazon. There are videos on how to do it. Very simple.

Do you have a set of calipers to measure the hole? There are two common sizes, 1/2" & 5/8". See attached pic from the Auveco catalog, note the GM part number in the description.

I have a 1987 and a 1991 cluster sitting here. I measured both with a very cheap ruler. The hole diameter, not counting the slots for the tabs, measures 5/8" and 1/2" respectively.

Edit to clarify: both of these clusters are from R/V squarebody trucks; not from a gmt400 truck.

thanks Kipps, The replacements are called PC168's, i guess meaning Printed circuit 168's. removing a bulb from a PC168 is definitely different than removing from an earlier typical socket. the sockets ARE smaller diameter and the wire(contacts) on the new 168 bulbs would have to be straightened out and then once inserted, have to be bent over and a touch of solder to mimick the premade ones. I won't be doing that! Once i knew what they were called, i had no trouble finding. just way pricier than standard. thanx, crossy
