Show off your Torq Thrusters - Need help with drop/bs

Hey Everyone,

I'm going to be ordering Torqs and the drop kit in the next few weeks. I'm going to be running TT II's, 20x8 up front and 20x10 in the rear.

I want both to tuck, "just enough," so that I won't have to worry about the wheels/tires hitting the fenders.

Could use some help on what backspace I'll need for front and rear and would love to see some pics of these as well. I've been scouring the forum already and found a few, but could use some help with specs.

Also want to make sure I get the right drop. Planning a 2.5/4 drop, but seeing pics and specs will help make sure I get the right drop package.

Ideally, I'd like a forward rake, with the tips of the tires "just" tucked on the front and rear.

Thanks for any help/pics and advice!

Re: Show off your Torq Thrusters - Need help with drop/bs

dont think a 2.5 - 4 drop will be what you want .

Ihave 17in tt2,s 9.5 i n on rear & 8 in on front with 5.5 in backspacing .275 on rear - 255 on front . they are tucked just to the top of the tire , like the way you want . But mine is dowm 5.5 in front & 6.5 in rear with a little rake . Iwill try to get my son to help me post a pic for you . Im not that good on such things. You are smart in getting advice before you start .Ididnt & ended up lowering mine twice in the front & e3 times in the rear before I WAS SATISFIED > also was very expensive since someone else did the work

Put over 30,000 miles on that set up and never rubbed! I later lowered it a couple inches more with a 22" in front and then it rubbed all the time!

Re: Show off your Torq Thrusters - Need help with drop/bs

Thanks everyone for posting pics and specs. Some very nice looking trucks and those Coys are deserving of a second look on my wheel selection. I was originally set on the old school rallies (new ones), but started seeing the coys/torqs and for a larger wheel, just look really good.

Here's what I'm coming up with:

5/6 drop. Five in the front, six in the rear.

How do I best achieve this drop? 3 inch drop spindles + two inch lowering springs for the front? How about the rear? What are my best options? Will I have to c-notch?

20x10s in the rear with 5 inch backspacing. I'm looking at Crawdad's with the 20x10 with 3, plus two inch shaved off the axle, which would be five. Then looking at 87lowrider's with 9.5 rear (half an inch shorter) with 5.5 (half an inch more push outwards), which looks like 20x10 with 5 inch BS would be perfect for what I want.

Crawdad, I did have a question. On your 20x10s in the rear, there is a considerable lip. Is that because it's 3 inch backspace? I really like how your rear wheels look, with the large lip on the wheels. Just wondering how I could achieve that with the 5 inch BS.

I appreciate your help everyone. Want to make sure I get this right and do it the best way possible, the first time.

Re: Show off your Torq Thrusters - Need help with drop/bs

I narrowed the rearend 4" (2" per side) so without narrowing you will have 2" less lip...5" backspace

Re: Show off your Torq Thrusters - Need help with drop/bs

Crawdads wheels have that flat lip design because the wheels shown are reverse hoop which means they turned the hoop around . If you like that look , get wheels that are flatlip design and they will look like that .

Re: Show off your Torq Thrusters - Need help with drop/bs

All of these are very nice trucks. For some odd reason my stock 85 SWB sits level (only 1/2" of rake). I'm looking for a 5.5/6 drop. What components would get me that drop? Also what drop shocks are you guys using (belltech nitro, belltech street, toxic, djm calmax, etc.)?

What about the belltech shocks? How do they compare to the Toxic shocks?
