Re: Perfect night for a run

It was 63 degrees this morning at 4:30 AM - 7.67 miles. Do you use Garmin Connect with your Forerunner? There's a lot of data there - heart rate, pace, cadence, stride, elevation, etc. I have mine linked via bluetooth to my phone, so I can see the data there or I can pull it up on Garminconnect.com.

Re: Perfect night for a run

I basically don the watch and activate the run functions. I eventually want to learn more of what I can do with the watch... like what you’re doing. I’m having fun learning and using it.
I definitely use it more to organize my runs as workouts. Something I never did before.
I’d just get out there and run.
I do miss running with my brother.
I had talked to my grandson about running with him before all the craziness hit.
The good thing is, I’m getting acclimated to the trail so hopefully when my grandson is ready I may be able to keep up.

Logged 20.5 miles this week.
I still don’t see any organized races anywhere. Everything is virtual races.

I haven’t been on our trampoline in years. Last time it felt like my back would go wonky on me if I jumped to much on that spinal misalignment contraption.

That's some pretty impressive mileage.

Yeah, at my age the trampoline is just a way to make things hurt faster. And I'm in pretty good shape.

Re: Perfect night for a run

I was 5 miles into my run this morning and decided to run 10 miles in memory of those who gave their life for our country.

Esprit de Corps.

Re: Perfect night for a run

I dedicate my run on Monday to the memory of SFC Ron Wood, who died in Kirkuk, Iraq on July 16, 2005. He was once one of my Soldiers. He was a great guy.

Today I decided to push myself. I went for 13.6 miles. The last couple of miles were a little tiring. If I decide to do that again I'm going to have to find a route with fewer hills.

This morning I hit 500 miles since 1 January. I'm halfway to my goal.

Now that’s impressive. That is solid work!

I logged 4.21 this morning. 19.5 miles this week so far and hope to get 3 or 4 miles in tomorrow.

Thank you both. Not too bad for an old guy who survived cancer last year, I suppose.

I have to say that you have motivated me some.

I’d like to read that 72 tigger is running.
I’d bet he still has his wheels. I understand life can happen but.... I’d like to read about it.

Re: Perfect night for a run

I got just 3 runs in this week for a total of 17.11 miles. My work schedule is getting in the way.
Tonight I ran 5.38 miles in 90* temperature. Not a perfect night to run but, not too bad.

Re: Perfect night for a run

I have most of those gadgets. Mine says something like 500 miles this year. I'll go check. I have it tied to the wind chime on the back porch.

I don't come here often because you guys make me hurt all over just reading about your escapades.

I'll go have a bowl of ice cream now.

That's some pretty impressive mileage you're putting up.

Other Larry, I can only imagine how loud those wind chimes must be...

Re: Perfect night for a run

I had to update my phone in order to download the Garmin Connect. I got it done today and I’m really liking that app!
The downside is that it says I need to 54 hours to recover. I’m thinking that’s referring to recovering from hard runs?

I never pay attention to how long it says I need to recover. If I did, I would run a whole lot less than I do. Just listen to your body. It will let you know if you're overdoing it.

Re: Perfect night for a run

We've had some crazy weather this weekend. It went from highs in the 90s to rainy and windy - so windy that it was blowing down trees and knocking over semi trailers. This morning it was only 46 degrees when I ran.
