New Member/Couple questions

Found this form very useful over the years.
I've got a 72 k10 with a newish crate 350.
My water pump recently cracked into several pieces.
Need new water pump pulley and cant get it anywhere in town.
So i was thinking why not upgrade to serpentine belt.
Anyone have any good luck with these, gripes moans or complaints/Good brands.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: New Member/Couple questions

Wow, what caused the pump to break like that. looks like all fresh break like something hit it hard. from what I see the pulley looks fine, is it defective on the bottom? Not sure on switching to serpentine, but it won't be cheap.. nice truck by the way.

I'll have to say that I've never seen one like that but then I haven't seen everything. This had to be a bad casting. You could check on the past posting's for further info. on serpentine set ups...

Re: New Member/Couple questions

In total the fan cut through my lower radiator hose, hit somewhere and broke the rivets off a blade. The pulley got crushed in somehow and the belt wont fit in on one side.

Re: New Member/Couple questions

A serp setup from a S-10 or C/K series truck 90-94 is the best ticket for you and should also be the most economical. Some aftermarket set ups can run up to a couple thousand bucks. Jim
