Remanufactured Engine ID Tag

I just bought a C10 that had this Remanufactured ID Tag attached to the driver side of the engine block under the exhaust ports. Sorry for the bad photo. I know the engine runs like new and was told that it was a 350, but have no paperwork.

Does anyone recognize the tag? It would help if I knew what company (Jasper, Douglas, Blueprint Engines, AutoZone, etc) built the engine. Then I could call them with the serial number and maybe determine if it is a 350.

I understand a company called Blueprint Engines use a red and silver ID tag, but they won't reply back to me.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Remanufactured Engine ID Tag

I recently bought a Blueprint Engine and it had the same type of tag, in the same location. I'd call them and see if they can give you any info. Sorry, I just read the last sentence. I'd still try calling them.

Re: Remanufactured Engine ID Tag

Hey this is Scott from BluePrint. I checked around and we don’t see any incoming emails regarding this, so sorry if we missed them. As far as this being one of ours, its been a long time since any of our tags have said “REMAN” on them, as we’re now pretty much a performance engine company. I checked both 218937 and 278937 in our database, and both are 4 cylinders, so pretty safe to say it is not ours. If I’m reading that number incorrectly, please call us to check it out further.

Re: Remanufactured Engine ID Tag

I think the second digit is a "4."

Being an old guy, I can't bend over the engine enough to read the casting number. Thanks

Scott, thanks for responding. Not sure why you didn't get my email. I will keep looking.

For the serial number 248937, I show that was a 1986 era 305 Chevy. It's a stock replacement engine that we discontinued some years ago. This particular engine was sold in July of 2007. That is assuming it was our engine.

Cylinder head and block casting numbers would confirm this.

"Runs like new??? Everybody knows there's an obvious difference in the "acceleration G force" between a 305 and a 350...

This is what customer service looks like. Thanks, Scott.
