Trailer Adapter Identification?

Im having trouble finding the adaptor to go from my truck to trailer. This pic is on the vehicle end. It looks to have 6 pins and 1 blade.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Trailer Adapter Identification?

hmm, that looks different.. did you buy the truck used with that on there? I'm not familiar with anything outside of typical connections, maybe that was a proprietary connector for something? almost looks like the inside of a connector like the business half is missing?

if that doesn't fit anything you can identify, I would replace it with a standard 7 pin RV style receptacle.. also verify the trailer is wired correctly and replace if necessary..

typical wiring diagrams and pictures of most standard connectors.. https://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx

good luck!

Re: Trailer Adapter Identification?

Yes it was on the pre-owned truck when I bought it.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Trailer Adapter Identification?

What year and make is the truck ?

It looks like the factory trailer harness plug that goes in behind the factory style trailer plug receptacle

Is there a factory looking hole this is hanging out of ?
