The Best Youtube Video Ever

This is the story of a stolen 69 Camaro and is well worth the viewing. Be sure and watch till the end. Goes to show you we need to watch out for ourselves.

Wow! What a fantastic story. Big pat on the back to the guy for staying the course and not giving up for 16 years and the end, well, he was guided that whole long way to be where he was at that moment.
That's a good one.

Re: The Best Youtube Video Ever

The guy in the articles below lives across the street from me. Pretty amazing he got his car back after 26 years. He had kept all of his paperwork and after his son found the car at a dealership it took about a month to get it back.

That was a good watch. Unfortunately, this has happened to many people. It was really awesome he got it back. That was really cool how he got the license plate too.

I have a friend that had his '72 GTO stolen.

He kept his eyes open found it a few streets over and stole it back. It is still in original unrestored condition with the exception of some touch ups around the driver's door lock and on the trunk.

BTW - the car is a floor shifted 3 speed manual. He ordered it that way because he had one in his '67 and liked it.

Witnesses reported that you could hear the gears grinding as the thieves attempted to drive off with it.

Re: The Best Youtube Video Ever

Perhaps I should not have been so blunt.
I’m not saying I know this didn’t happen. I haven’t done any research, I just watched the video. I really haven’t put a lot of thought into the story.
I tend not to believe everything I watch on youtube.
Could have really happened.

It was enough to convince me that I want to add a hidden kill switch somewhere just to make me feel better.

Kingsolver, I haven't had a complete car taken but I've had some thieves break into my storage container next to my shop and they stole over $6k worth of parts. I also had a 72 Longhorn Cheyenne Super stolen from a media blasting shop. It was just a bare roller but it was dent and nearly rust free. I've never found any part of any of this. I don't doubt for a second this guy's car was stolen. Every year on Power Tour cars are stolen. Shoot, it happens daily and at least 3x a month you'll see classic cars and trucks. shared on social media and many have been recovered from all the extra eyes.

BRL, I agree. I've integrated some safety's to some vehicles to hopefully slow down the theft. A few years ago I was at a local Menards and I had a bunch of snap-on cordless tools and 2 digital torque wrenches in the cab of my orange 72. It was parked directly under a pole with a camera on it. The stuff was on the floor and not on the seat. I left the truck unlocked. I came back outside to a broken window and all the tools gone. Guess what? The store management wouldn't release their footage and even with local police asking for it, they refused. People suck!

Re: The Best Youtube Video Ever

All of my stuff is so tricky to get started I figure if they can get it running they've earned it - they can have it.

I really enjoyed that video. That gentleman gets an A for effort. I don't know what I would do if some dip **** took one of my vehicles.

Re: The Best Youtube Video Ever

well that's quite a story.more than one lesson here to learn.it's amazing how the folks who should help, sometimes drop the ball.i had trouble with my insurance people after a new Harley was destroyed(and my right shoulder) after a young girl changed lanes without looking and drove over me.i fought with the insurance folks from June til November til they agreed to write the bike off.the man said to me after one of our many sessions,Greg he said, you have to realize,me and my co-workers know nothing about Motorcycles?i said well there lays the problem, you take our money to look after things, doesn't always happen.the folks that should have your back, don't always.i'm glad Mr. Neeley got Pearl back.
