Road Trip and Met a Member

Wife and I made a road trip to MO this weekend. Got to meet member palallin from this board and look at his 1969 long stepper truck. Good time.

I was in full blown 1967-1972 mode during the trip and here is what I saw:

1971-72 CST, red and white in West Plains, MO. Super looking truck.

1971-72 C10 stepside while in a construction zone north of West Plains. Good looking truck but had the 1970's stance. High in the back, low in the front.

1968 C10 long bed somewhere in MO. Old man making his way to town in what looked to be an all original survivor. Had traffic piled up behind him and it made me smile.

1969-70 flat bed in Batesville, AR. Looked to be 3/4 ton but hard to tell as I met it and both of us going highway speed.

Also saw a GMC bed that had been turned into a trailer for sale. May go back and look at that one. What looked like an abandoned project outside a body shop in north AR and another in a back yard.

Roadtrippin' on the backroads, looking for old cars, trucks, etc. is also one of my favorite things to do.

No news on that story...I remember a Model A coupe sitting outside next to an EMPTY 1 car garage...I stopped several times asking if it was for sale - "Nope" It sat for over 30 years until it rusted itself on the frame.....

Re: Road Trip and Met a Member

Up in PA I know where there's a '55 Chevy shortbed with a carport collapsed on top of it that's been there over 10 years that way. I don't think the carport came down hard on it, but it just sits directly on the truck, piles up with snow... crazy. The guy won't sell or do anything with it. Just walks over to the bar.
