Well I did it again (bought another truck 68 K10)

Just took delivery of an ebay score. The hood was supposedly ruined and a GMC one put on back in the day.

I bought it from a guy in Colorado springs and the truck came from Montana and was owned by a company.

Not sure my plans for it, but thought it was neat so I picked it up. Its a V8, 3OTT truck.

I saw that truck for sale. I wanted it too, but don't need another truck.

Congratulations!

Nice truck! I saw it on ebay also. Wondering why the V-8 isn't on the SPID?

Yeah me too, I thought that was odd. The spid does match the cab vin though and it all looks original under the hood.

Does anyone know why that would be?

looks like a great truck, you dont see too many 3ott 4x4's sure they are out there but not real common.

Second letter of the VIN is "E" which denotes a V8 truck (307). If it had the 327 or 396 it would be listed on the spid.

Re: Well I did it again (bought another truck 68 K10)

Yeah I think the hood was actually on the truck for a lot of years, it has paint scratches and bumps and bruises that match the rest of the front end.

I didn't do any fake patina work, just scrubbed up and polished what was already there. A lot of the color came back in the paint and it looks a lot less dried out now.

Re: Well I did it again (bought another truck 68 K10)

Right now I'm just giving it some TLC, have a bunch of tune up parts that I have to install, put some new shocks on it, and trying to find some missing pieces/parts. It drives really nice surprisingly just have to do standard old truck stuff to get it all working as it should (spent a couple hours lubing and adjusting the 3OTT so I could drive it in something other that 1st or reverse).

I've also got a set of 15x8 6 lug chevy rallys with 31" tires that will very shortly end up on it.

I am actually in a bit of a dilemma with what the actual end game for the truck is. Literally the day it was getting delivered my neighbor offered to sell me her rust free 95 dodge cummins 4x4 truck. She was moving and I had hounded her for 4 years over it, so I bought that one too!

Now I am full on urban hillbilly, have waaay too many vehicles and not enough space.
