I have to say I'm getting better at the sheet metal work. I can build a lowboy trailer from scratch but sheet metal work is an art!! Getting better though

Beautiful work! What did you use to cut your frame? Looks very precise.

I used a plasma cutter with a straight edge as a guide and a piece of pipe as a guide for the radius. Thanks!!

Got my epoxy primer and poly primer in today. Now it's time for some light dent removal. Some mud and then prime.

What are your plans for the rear axle? I am doing a similar build but can't decide on rear wheel size because I am not sure what is involved in narrowing the rear axle.

I am going to be narrowing the stock 12 bolt. With ford big bearing axle ends to get rid of the c clips and then 4:10 gears and a posi. I will narrow it as close as I can get the backing plate to the trailing arms and then order my wheels based of of that

Re: 1970 c10 lq9 build

Thanks for the reply and that was I was thinking about doing too. I too am keeping the trailing arms so I figured that would be my limiting factor. I am pretty close by you, what do you think it would cat me to have one of the shops you work at chop my axle down? It's a 72 axle

You would need axle ends that would run you a little over 100 and then about 225 for labor for putting it in a jig and cutting down and welding new ends on
