I'm Ron and I'm from just north of Ft. Worth, Texas.

I've always wanted a 1st gen Blazer, in particular a 1969 since that's what year I was born, but when I saw the 1st gen Jimmy I fell in love with the quad headlights. I finally bought a 1970 Jimmy this past April from a fella in Pittsburgh. It's got a lot of rust issues, but I don't think I got robbed.

Since I got my dream truck, I've been searching for anything I can find on 1st gen Blazers & Jimmys and found this site. I'm looking forward to getting tips and finding sheetmetal that won't break the bank.
Perusing this thread again, and I noticed that the pics of my Jimmy in my original post had become X's, so I thought I would try posting pics again.

Re: How about some pics of 69-72 Blazers and Jimmys.

Anyone know what kind of mirrors these are on Red_1070s Blazer? They look like they might work decent for towing (larger head) without mounting a 3pt towing mirror.

Pretty dirty right now. Tried to put these up last night but put them in the wrong place. Finally back together after the second tear down. Interior still out and debating on weather to get some new seats. HATE those fugly utility buckets and trying to figure should I replace with some nice Procar or something along that line. Can't afford stock buckets I'm so over budget now and the wife would..... well you know.

Nice Jimmy, I like the look to it. I think that's the first time I see a motor with a limit strap to it.

Are those two stereo's in the dash?

I think its to keep the motor from "wrapping" the truck around itself LOL

My 72 Blazer that I've owned for over 22 years is currently in pieces as it's getting painted, but here a few pics of it.

On the rear, driver's side of your engine block there'll be a 7 digit, raised, stamped number. Find out what it is and just interweb search it. You'll find plenty of sources that will equate that number to a year or year range and models that engine was put in. It's a pain to get to but I found that by using my cell phone, I held it back there and snapped a few pics and finally got a legible one.
