Oh yes, he loves getting out and exploring, but he never complains. We rarely hear a "peep" out of him unless he gets really excited

Haha, we were using a stick to hold him up that was working pretty well, but I tried to hurry and snap that pic quickly. It was a pretty small stream, though, so it wouldn't have carried him far before I would have grabbed him. It would have been a great pic for a Monroe-sized "white water rafting" trip though lol!

So from your pics you are on Lake Travis? Looks like the water levels have come up! Great stop for us all.

Yes indeed! It's the north side of lake Travis. The water level is so high that 2 of the 3 boat ramps are closed bc they are under water, as well as part of the park going under water. And we're supposed to get more rain this week!

What is the protocol if we've scheduled time out of town since the original sign-ups? We're hearing out for a week in Early June.

You should be able to PM the member that currently has him with your name and address and have them pencil in the dates you will be unavailable on your mailing address label.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

We came down to the Arts District to check out some of the famous wall murals. We came across this one, which is a shoutout to a movie filmed locally (at least I think it was filmed in Austin?) that's famous for a certain black 72 Cheyenne -

It's no secret that Monroe loves good music - he was born with an MP3 player in his hand!! Here he is paying respects to another late, great Austin legend - Stevie Ray Vaughan

I let Mr. TexasLS1 know I can't take Monroe from June 11 through 19th (or if I get him right before that he is going to run the I-95 from NC right up to ME)

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

So today is our 3rd and final day with Monroe. He has been a fun guest.

We couldn't get any pics of all the bats last night 'cause it got too dark and my phone is a potato lol. Since we couldn't take Monroe for a spin in the truck, we took one of him hanging out inside the truck. He seems to like being perched on the steering wheel.

Much thanks! It'd suck for the box to sit on our porch for a week. Little fellow would likely have died from heat stroke- or would that have been broiled???

Monroe has started his trek to his next destination! We said our goodbyes and wished him well, and sent him on his way. Can't wait to see what's next!

Thanks again, and thanks to your daughter too for playing alone. I really like the seat in your truck ... where did you get that cover?

We loved it, this is such a great thing that you've put together. I'm not sure where the cover is from unfortunately, I don't see any labels on it anywhere; the seat had already been recovered when I bought the truck! I do really like it, but I'm really itchin' for a new cover with white houndstooth inserts I just wish they would have left the build sheet under it though

OK I was able to have a mod clean this up a little, got rid of two pages of our chatter about what the heck was going on with Monroe haha! (thanks Mod, you know who you are heh). I'm bumping this because Monroe should be close to his next stop, fingers crossed.

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

Well Ive been just been informed from a reliable source that the one and only original Monroe has actually landed at his next stop after a verrrrrry long hiatus in Utah. Maybe one of those young fellas on the bikes decided to take him on their missionary thing?

Ill keep the "spare" Monroe at the house just in case =)

Re: Son of Trucks are for Chickens ... Its on!

Ok guys, we're back on track. Monroe arrived yesterday and my girls found the box last night on the porch. I work third shift so when I got home this morning I opened the box and got him out. I usually work a side job during the day when I get off so I immediately headed out the door to it.

Apparently, my girls have wasted no time in introducing Monroe to "their" way of life since I'm not home.

I'm sure he's wondering what he's gotten himself into right now. He looks terrified.

My 11 year old, Halen, said Monroe thinks I need to get on the ball with her cab.
