Power steering box ID/problem

Power steering has been groaning and leaking on return fitting since the hydroboost install. Decided to check again if my 7802644 box has o rings. Took the fittings off and it either looks like I have one o-ring hole and one flare, or I’m somehow missing a flare insert on the return side. Any expert opinions?

Re: Power steering box ID/problem

The return port is an O ring style....make sure your return pipe fitting has a rubber O ring on the outside of the pipe piece that fits into the hole....

The O rings are metric but most auto stores have them in stock....

or of you have the flare type return hose you can order a flare insert from Speedway Motors...910-32921....

The flare fitting goes into the steering box flare side up, then you screw the hose on....

If your system is groaning with hydroboost installed, your pump is not providing sufficient flow...maybe time for a rebuild or new one....
