1982 GMC Header Panel adjustment

Good Morning Gentlemen,

I am attempting to install the hood on my 82 Sierra. Got the gaps at the cowl and rear of fenders looking good, but gaps at the front of the fenders out. Would appear I need to shift my header panel over about 3/4" . The panel has two large rubber mounts that don't seem to have much give when loosened. Have any of you guys run into this? Any suggestions? Thanks

You can shift the fenders on the rad support, shift the support a little, rotate the cab a little. 3/4 off says to me the cab is not on square. Are the doors looking good to the cab?

Thanks..... yes...got the doors / fenders looking good. Rear of hood good at the cowl, and back of fenders. I never had the cab off....so hopefully it's okay. Tried adjusting header panel over, but when I retighten bolts...it shifts back. Thinking I will cut off rivets holding the header panel supports, and build a spacer.

I agree with D13, I bet the cab is off a little, which is throwing everything else off..
Pick two common points on each fender and measure point to point diagonally.

They could be right about the cab, but did you have any shims at the front of the fenders before took of the rad support. ( are they after market fenders and or rad support you may need shims on one side or both. But I would make sure the cab is sitting square. If it is try shims between fender and rad support as needed to correct the fit.
