Hey wow man! I missed this till now. You deserve some special recognition for your "creation". That's really cool. It's custom in the truest sense...not following others. Where we goin'??

Thanks
I have been recreating the body from old photes. The bus is owned by The 29 Palms Historical Society and named the Hastie Bus. The bus was operated by Jonnie Hastie and was the first public transportation for the Morongo Basin. Google Hastie Bus.
Thanks again for your comments

Kenny, thanks for pointing me to the history. I eat that stuff up. Even better when it relates to vehicles and a man's enterprising ideas. It filed the need for an era after (or at the end of) the horse-drawn stages. I see you have your hands in many interesting forms transportation projects.

Re: Thread #2: Early Hauler Pictures...

That's the only picture I have and not sure where I found it. It has me thinking, too. You could get detailed pictures of a steel pickup bed, maybe measurements too,and make the pieces. I keep looking for ways to incorporate my woodworking skills with my trucks.

Re: Thread #2: Early Hauler Pictures...

Here is a 1940 fire truck in all original condition we sold last weekend it had 5900 actual miles on it the motor was locked up though and the brakes did not work. I wanted it but it brought more than I needed to spend it had absolutely no rust on it.

That's really cool you came up with this. I'm no stranger to Google, but I'm still surprised you managed to link up with this. I haven't looked at Jim Carter's site in a good while.
