292 cyclinder head

The head on my 64 c10 292 cracked can anyone tell me where I might find one that will work.
Also I know the 235 and 250 use the same head but does that go for the 67 to 74 model.
Everywhere I've checked says no longer available
Thanks

Re: 292 cyclinder head

The 235 engine is a different engine. The 230, 250, and 292 heads all bolt up to your block. I am not sure about the year ranges, but someone who has more experience with the 6 cylinders can tell you. 12bolt.com might have a used cylinder head available

Re: 292 cyclinder head

Up near Denton, TX there is a classic recycling yard that would have them also. http://www.ctcautoranch.com/
Maybe AT Engines in Grand Prairies, TX (ATK Engines)

Re: 292 cyclinder head

Just do a google search . I found this one in less than a minute. There are many more.

I would not buy a used one unless it has been magged and checked for cracks . You might try a local add as shipping costs usually kills the deal.

Re: 292 cyclinder head

Sorry about that.
I gotta read the fine print.
See some on eBay but not cheap.
A 194 head also fits and ups your compression a bit.
Used head you need to get them checked at a machine shop.
Any engine rebuilders in your area might be a source.

Re: 292 cyclinder head

Thanks Mike but I've already got 1 on the way but I'm sure there are other members out there that can use one. Even Kegs told me they are having trouble finding good ones to rebuild.
