Re: Chop Tops ???

I agree on no chop

ive only seen it done once where i liked it

dropped the roof 4 1/2 inches
angled back the a pillars
dropped the bed top down 3 inches
and brought the wheel arches down 3 inches

so it all looked in proportion

but that probably more work than you want to do

I like chopped trucks but that one is too much for me.... 2 or 2 1/2" would be my max. I also like them better with the "A" pillars cut, not leaned back.

Just my 2¢ worth...

Chop -

Slammed - OK

I have only ever seen one chop on these trucks that I like. It was in the Projects section, but I can't for the life of me find it. It was very subtle, and the body was completely wire wheeled, just shiney metal. Dang, now I really want to find that thread!!

Was that the one that had a ton of other body mods too? Like the hood was cut, and only the "top" opened, etc? Completely shaved, slammed, etc?

Re: Chop Tops ???

I think so. I don't remember if this was the one that the top of the hood opened or not though. I remember that mod, just can't remember if it was the same truck. I do remember lots of pics taken in the shop (large shop), and there were some taken outside on the grass. But yeah, shaved, slammed, I think a 67-68 front, maybe even a different dash altogether?

Re: Chop Tops ???

My votes: Lowered = yes. Slammed = no. Chopped = no.

Only chop I've ever seen that looked "right" to me was this one, the Dale Earnhardt memorial show truck. Have to look twice, just to be sure it was really-really cut, the proportions are so well done.
