Same here. I bought my 68 for a short term driver. My wife keeps telling me I'm not allowed to sell it cause she loves it. (She also 'made' me buy a 56 F100 2 years ago for similar reasons.

You know, my wife would never try to do something like that to me. First, because she's nice, and second, well... I guess there is no second. She's just nice, and nice people just generally don't try to control other people. I can't imagine being married to someone like that. Why, it makes my blood boil just thinking about it!

Re: Somebody needs to have a talk with this guy's wife...

I have a great wife- her motto is "a man can never have too many trucks" (I have 4). She can even spot them in back yards when we're out west or down south (she waits in the car while I try to buy them). Thought about selling one of my trucks a few years ago but, she talked me out of it- she's wonderful!

That's funny you say that. It's one of my techniques although I usually wait for a time when she wants a high dollar item like a saddle or something for the horses. I then say "while were on the subject....." Problem is I tend to buy things and THEN run it past her. It seems to work better that way. Sometimes I have to put together a good presentation but the '67 Fastback was an easy sell. She had one when she was 16.

Re: Somebody needs to have a talk with this guy's wife...

My wife encourages me to buy old cars/trucks and fix them up.. She's the 1 who told me to buy my work truck so that I wouldn't have to drive my 68 everyday

Easier to ask for forgiveness that to obtain permission.

Wrenching old trucks is good for your marriage: If Tiger Woods was wrenching up a beat down 67-72, he never would have had time for all them sloots.
