Re: my 98' Streetrod build

This is my favorite recent pic. I think its a good snapshot of a "garage built Hot Rod/Truck Enthusiast's lifestyle ".
As mentioned,in another thread,,its a sickness,a therapy,an addiction but its also a quality of life thats worth every hour spent. And when your done, you can drive it down the street and blow peoples minds.
Yea,,I had a moment of reflection. K,Im done...

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

I had 7 0r 8 other blue samples sprayed w/o a desirable result. The second from the left is the blue from post #177.Hard to believe,,,it just shows how the light affects the shade. That color had too much purple in it .,I had my painter take that same color, lighten it and increase the metallic properties. I think its the one.(far right w/the silver X on it)
Phone pics,

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

Thats my '68. I got to a 1/2 way completion point w/it and decided to go another direction. It got blown apart and its not quite a roller yet. I will post a pic of it when I bought it,6 yrs ago,but I would like to keep this thread focused on the '98.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

Wish I'd left my '69 alone.

God knows that this '98 is certainly going to be tough to top.

What is that sprayed on the firewall? It reminds me of Zolotone but surely you would use something else? Even so, it looks clean. The texture is the right thing to see. Gives the eyes something to do.

Thanks Alan.
I'll be using a PPG "fixed and flat" clear so it shouldnt change much.It will calm down the metallic a little and give it a smooth, satin glow.

Im getting the air tank sprayed to see the final color before any panels are shot.

Re: my 98' Streetrod build

Me too.
The wet weather and painters(calling in sick) have been pushing back the progress.I have been staying busy w/other stuff while Im waiting,so nothing to show at this time.
I should have some good stuff happening in March.
