Re: Show them trucks before and after!

Wow great work on these trucks, they look great.
This is my, soon to be 14 yo, sons and I's project. Started life as a fire truck, then who every got it, painted it gold, installed the flat bed, and let it sit outside for the last 20 years. The plates that were on it were 1996. Still has less than 20000 miles on it.

You're making memories for life with your boy. My dad and I started building my '69 when I was 14. 21 years later, I still have the truck, and we both still enjoy it together, with many memories. I can't wait to start a project truck/car with my 2 year old son...but for now he's content just crapping his pants.

Re: Show them trucks before and after!

4 year restoration, 2012 to present. Doesn't look that bad in the original photo, but it was a well preserved but very tired old original.

Looks great as always Dave. Have you ever tried putting the original wheels on since you got the truck finished. I think white steelies would look soooo sweet on that truck!

Re: Show them trucks before and after!

It was pretty straight to start with but lots of cancer in the running and floor boards. They needed to be cut out and replaced. Still two-tone but very different looking now!

I have NOS caps and a set of wheels and new tires, but need to get the wheels painted or powder coated. Which means getting them dismounted, sand blasted, painted/coated, remounted, installed, etc... just a lot of steps.

I do plan to show it with the original wheels, if I ever do show it.

Make sure to post some pics of it.

I've said it before but, I just love that blue on your truck. I was on the fence between it and the medium olive green I eventually chose. Maybe one day I could have a blue one too....$$$$$$
