Tried the pads she just chewed them up. used potty turf and that worked okay until she started missing the turf and peed off the side. mostly having issues at night when I'm at work peeing on the floor now and then.

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

I worked on the truck for about 3 hours removing the front accessories and stock fuel injection. only part I did not remove is the main crank pulley I need removal tool to pull it so my nephew will stop by on his way home this week with the tools to pull it and install the new one. Mounted the supercharger and so far it fits no problems. You have to remove the top of the supercharger to bolt it down to the heads then reinstall the top. In the picture you can see the radiators that cool the in coming air before it goes into the cylinder. the adapter for the heads worked good you can see them in-between the heads and supercharger. the heads are cathedral type and the supercharger is square head type.

Good to see the supercharger installed. Cannot not wait to see the LSX concepts drive installed. Will be some time before I get to install mine.

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

Ran in to minor issue with the crank shaft no key way. So I ordered a crank pin kit should have it Friday or Saturday so I can move forward with installing the pulley kit.

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

With work shutdown I have time to work on my truck the last couple days installing the brackets and pulleys for the supercharger. Another issue I ran into is the throttle body and drive by wire. This supercharger works best with 102mm TB or bigger and finding one that works with 2004 LS computer is not available. I ended up buying an adapter cable to convert my 8 pin to 6 pin throttle body and bought a 6pin 102mm TB. I found some 56lb injectors that save me $300.00 in stead of the one LS Concepts is selling. so far the brackets are fitting real good. 1 set I missed is installing the AC bracket first and had to remove the water pump to install it. to get the belts on I cut off about 1/8" off the front cross member as I only had about 1/8" from the crank pulley to the frame clearance.

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

Got the belts installed fit good. I ordered torque wrench to tighten up the supercharger the one I barrow was for 1/4" and I needed one for 3/8" allen socket.

I have it also but it’s a lot of stuff to go throw for SC. Keep us posted as I am curious how difficult it is to tune.

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

Got the throttle body and manifold Installed. been working on the engine wire harness. with the supercharger it requires different sensor and connector to make them work. had to order MAP and MAF from LSA engine and different injector connectors as well. Not sure what the machined surface is on the side of the manifold is for. the MAP sensor mount on the right side of the SC body and the MAF is a blade type that get installed in the intake tube. anybody know what its for. the bottom hole had a barbed fitting that I removed because it was hitting the pulley.

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

Hey DW. I noticed that is a 3Bar MAP. How much boost will you be running? ok....I am going to let the cat out of the bag.
I got a 2bar (from a Cobalt SS)because I am going to run less than 14PSI boost so the resolution is better in the tune with a 2 bar for me.
I am also going to convert to a blade style MAF since my motor is a Gen IV it is pretty easy from what I read. Still have to tune the MAF but no matter what our swaps are with any mods this needs or should be done.

As for the barb fitting, it was probably for the crank case vent in a stock config. Not sure but there are many different types of crank case vent routing applications based on the different motors, years, intakes, etc. On both my Gen IV motors the vacuum port is on the manifold right behind the TB. From what I seen the vacuum ports on an earlier Gen III are right on the throttle body. I am sure someone here can verify this. Does the instructions from MAG or the TB company say anything regarding this SC or TB on the different GEN motors? I know you are building a custom setup So NO real instructions.....

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

When I bought the MAP it said was for LSA engine 2007 to 2016 I did not know it was 3 bar. 2 bar would be better. Do you have part number for 2 bar. No instructions going by the seat of my pants. I did down load the instructions for installing it in a Corvette but not much help because they use a lot of parts off the car. I did buy a blade still MAF for the same engine.

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

My MAP fits the truck intake. If you have the bolt on one it will be different then mine.
I guess as long as you have all the lines ran like crankcase vents, vacuum lines etc you should be good.
I am going to run a centrifugal SC For a 2012 Camaro ss. So really I am on my own with plumbing myself.

I replaced my injector wire connectors the crimp tool I bought for Weather Pac connectors worked great. Had to change from the stock 2004 truck injectors to LSA type injector connectors.

Finally got an intake tube that works 4" with 45degree bend. Now I can set up the MAF sensor in the tube. using a blade type sensor.

Looking good! Do you know your fitting sizes on the hydroboost? I have the same setup and need to figure out which fittings to buy for the feed and return lines.

Re: 71 4X4 Frame off Restoration

Nice build! Your gonna love that Maggie!
The hydroboost fittings will depend which box, pump, and hydroboost you’ve got. The Mid-late 70’s setups are standard inverted flare and everything else is metric o ring. I’ve got a standard box and pump with a metric hydro. If I remember right I believe the inverted flare fittings are for 3/8 tube. The metric I honestly don’t remember. I reused all my old fittings from the hydro and the original power steering setup. The metric fittings will fit on the 3/8 tubing just fine.
