Retrosounds Stereo Question

Just installed a Retrosounds Stereo in my truck. Everything works well.

Only thing is the digital readout. It's been about 30 degrees here and when I first turn it on the digital readout only shows up partially. After it's been on for 5 or 10 minutes the digital readout shows up much better but still not perfect. It depends on the angle that you are looking at it.

Anyone else running one of these? Is this normal for these stereos? How well does your's light up, and does the temperature affect it?

Re: Retrosounds Stereo Question

I'm running one, but no problems with the LED in cold weather. I'm a little south of you and it really hasn't gotten too cold yet. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if it changes.

Re: Retrosounds Stereo Question

O.k.. Me too.

Over the past few weeks it has stayed below freezing for like 4 days in a row. My LED did the same thing. In the middle of the display it is pretty dim for several minutes. Once it warms up, all is well.

Good Deal!
I guess that means that's just how they are then.

Re: Retrosounds Stereo Question

That might be, but I'm curious to know why that is. They use an older LCD display right?

Re: Retrosounds Stereo Question

I wasn't aware there were new LCD's. If there are new one's, then these might be the older one's. They kind of look like every other digital display you might see. Mine is only a little faded. I can still read it and it sounds fine.

Re: Retrosounds Stereo Question

Well LCD has become a much more broad term these days. I'm referring to the types used in calculators and apparently, these radios.
