69 c10 DD Build

This summer I bought a 1969 c10 with a rebuilt 350 and I believe a rebuilt th350.

I started with light work, new fluids belts etc then dove in to a Painless Wiring Harness. Got the truck rewired then dealt with starter problems.. Pulled the starter multiple times and eventually found out I needed a new solenoid. After that all was good. In september we hopped in the truck to take it to a local small show. 2 miles away from home the brakes decide to give way and we ended up braking the brake rod, We limped her back home and parked it. This past week I pulled the bed and started to wire wheel it down getting it ready to undercoat. Also a good time to inspect to make sure everything will be good for when I start driving it. Came upon a few surprises.. Frame is split on driver's side right above the coil and on the passenger side It is starting to rust through. Also both traction bars have to be replaced, they're splitting and the passenger side is rusted through. As of now the rear frame and rear axel is all cleaned off and we will fix the frame and order new traction bars as soon as we're done renovating our barn. The deadline for it to hit the streets is June 14, 2014 as thats the day I get my license. Should be a swell time

Here are pics from the day I got it to now..

Also heres a picture of the wheel I will be running, 4x4 rallies, I believe 8 inches deep with 5 inch backspacing and some new center caps we have.

That is about the most dangerous way I have ever seen to change the oil. Please buy or borrow a jack and some jack stands the next time you want to work under the truck.
